The 18th International Summer School on Crystal Growth will be organised in Parma (https://isscg-18.unipr.it/), the Italian Capital of Culture 2020-21, as an in-person event, after the change of date imposed by the pandemic emergency.
The Campus of Science and Technology of Parma University has been chosen to host this event. A friendly and stimulating environment will facilitate discussions and new contacts between lecturers and participants.
As per tradition, the School is organized in conjunction with the International Conference on Crystal Growth and Epitaxy, which takes place in Naples in the following week.
The School’s programme will include lectures covering theoretical and experimental aspects of the growth and characterization of different types of crystalline materials, in form of single crystals, thin films and nanocrystals. Leading experts will lead participants into the fascinating world of “crystal fabrication”, providing an overview of recent advancements and updated concepts.
The format of the school is designed to encourage interaction between lecturers and attendees, with informal discussions at coffee breaks, meals and social events. Special sessions will be organised to give participants the opportunity to present their own work and discuss it with peers.
